student leaders are in the trenches. they are our eyes, ears, hands, and feet and we need to equip them for success.
The Defenders Program equips student leaders to become more resilient, and self-aware and create positive change in their school’s culture.
If we want to change our student’s culture, it must start with leadership. This happens through training, community, and accountability, which our defenders program provides.
SELF-AWARE LEADERS
In this module students will learn how to acknowledge themselves in as much detail as possible and accept it, thus building their own self awareness and building their resilience.
OWNING MY STORY
Students discover the power of communicating their own story which gives them personal material to use to inspire and lead by example. We teach methods to use their story to show examples, relate to problems and to inspire change.
SKILLED LEADERS
HOW TO ASK QUESTIONS
Leaders need to know how to ask questions to get to the root of social issues. In this module we teach the important scripts that disarm, deflect and bring truth to a situation.
HOW TO COMPLIMENT
Giving and receiving compliments can often be awkward. We tend to try and dismiss them, or hand them back. In this module students will learn how to appreciate compliments and accept them with grace
HOW TO RAISE CONCERNS
There are times in our lives where we need to raise our concerns, even if this might upset others. If we cannot do this, we cannot expect the issue to be resolved. Eventually, we will start to develop grudges that can snowball into much bigger issues. In this module, students will learn how to raise these concerns in a constructive way whilst maintaining peace in their relationships.
RESULTS DRIVEN LEADERS
Students will how to plan a campaign and run a Defenders group in their school We give students resources and guidance that will:
Teach student leaders how to conduct a survey to gain interest from their peers and teachers to raise awareness of a theme in the school
Learn how to use social media platforms in a healthy way to draw awareness to the campaign
Learn how to train and equip other students with the knowledge they have acquired through the Defenders program.
Lead a student group through SKF material and raise other defenders in their school.

We equip students with scripts, mental health education, and exercises that build critical thinking, and confidence and prepare them to be ready for anything. Schools can access our library of scripts and videos to revisit the content.
